The PhD programme in Civil, environmental, and mechanical engineering aims to train young researchers in the fields of engineering, architecture and applied sciences.

The programme includes advanced courses, primarily during the first year, and research on the chosen PhD thesis topic, which must be characterised by originality and innovation.

Throughout the programme, students develop the skills necessary to conduct independent research, design and manage research projects in national and international contexts, and effectively communicate their methods and results to an international audience.

The PhD programme also focuses on fostering an exploratory approach to research topics and translating research outcomes into practical applications. It aims to strengthen the connections between basic and applied research in addressing environmental challenges of societal importance, requiring the development of innovative technologies, methods, and solutions.
