The use of generative AI tools in the University must be in compliance with the principles, good practices and regulations in force on the protection of personal data and the privacy of individuals and information concerning them, and must ensure the confidentiality of research and administrative data.
Users must ensure that the use of generative AI tools does not compromise the confidentiality of the information to which they have access or of the information they grant access to.
It is fundamental to carefully evaluate the terms of service and privacy policies of cloud-based generative AI service providers - particularly those available for free - prior to their use, to make sure that they provide adequate data protection safeguards.
Users must be aware of these risks and take all necessary measures to protect confidential and personal data. These may include the pseudonymisation and anonymisation of data before using it with AI, as well as the implementation of appropriate data security measures for its use and storage.
