Second level Master’s Degree
Social Foresight

MASTER’S INFORMATION
The Master's in Social Forecasting is a second level university master's degree offered by the department of sociology and social research with the patronage of UNESCO, and is the first Italian master's degree in future studies.
It is increasingly important in terms of strategy and planning for companies to include people with a vision of the future and the ability to grasp its potential. The master's degree responds to this need by primarily addressing managers and officials already working in the public or private sectors who wish to acquire new tools to support the strategic decisions they must make or to which they must contribute.
The course in brief
OVERVIEW
Candidates who have already obtained at least one degree under the old regulations, a master's degree or a single-cycle master's degree, or an equivalent foreign qualification, can participate in the selection.
Students who plan to graduate by September 1, 2024 are also eligible.
There are also 2 places available for auditors, who are exempt from the qualification requirement but must have gained significant professional experience.
Enrollment in the master’s is compatible with simultaneous enrollment in another course of study under certain conditions (more information on the dedicated page).
The master’s provides participants with the knowledge to understand the complexities and uncertainties that characterize contemporary reality and the tools and skills necessary to develop useful strategies to face the challenges of the future.
The activities alternate academic and non-academic subjects, seminars, workshops and group work, in order to render the content concrete and applicable.
The activities will take place from September 2024 to June 2025 in Italian, mainly in person.
Attendance is required for at least 70% of the hours of classroom teaching.
Students who have regularly participated in the master’s activities, passed the assessment tests and the final exam and completed the internship will be awarded the Level I University Master's Diploma.
The learning assessment will be carried out with a written or oral test and with an evaluation expressed as either "approved” or “not approved". The final exam consists of the completion of a paper that must be discussed before a commission composed of at least 3 professors appointed by the board of directors of the master’s.
