MASTER’S INFORMATION
SCICOMM - Communication of Science and Innovation is a first-level professional master's course offered by the Department of Sociology and social research.
The participants gain high-level expertise and strengthen their skills to work in the field of science and research communication. The course is in English, delivered in synchronous online mode, and includes an internship.

The course in brief
OVERVIEW
Applications are welcome from individuals who have already been awarded at least a bachelor's degree or an equivalent foreign degree, and students who plan to graduate by the start of the course.
The participants acquire the necessary skills to understand the dynamics of communication in research and innovation and translate them into effective and sustainable operational strategies.
They learn to develop science communication and public engagement strategies for research institutes, innovation-oriented companies, public organizations that work in the area of research and science communication.
164 hours of classroom lessons, which will be delivered online in synchronous mode, and 250 hours of placement internship are planned. Mandatory attendance is required for at least 70 percent of the planned teaching activities.
The final examination consists of a paper developed under the supervision of a lecturer or expert which must be presented before a Committee.
Students who have regularly participated in the master’s activities, completed the placements and passed the teaching assessment tests and the final paper will be awarded the first level Master's degree in “Communication of Science and Innovation - SCICOMM”.
The registration fee is 2,916.00 euro (including stamp duty) to be paid in two installments, the first upon confirmation of the place, the second by 21 February 2026.
One 1,450.00-euro scholarship (which corresponds to the second installment) will be awarded to the applicant who placed first in the admission ranking.
Any scholarships that may become available at a later date will be awarded by the Master's committee on the basis of the students' performance in the course of the programme. Externally-funded scholarships will be awarded based on requirements set by the funding organization.
