In 2023 and 2024, the University of Trento applied for and obtained two Next Genereation EU NRRP grants for the digitization of the public administration:
- in October 2023 under the Call Misura 1.4.3 "Adozione piattaforma pagoPA" Altri Enti
- in July 2023 under the Call Misura 1.3.1 "Piattaforma Digitale Nazionale Dati" Università e AFAM pubblici
Both grants fall within Mission 1, Digitisation, innovation, competitiveness, culture and tourism, to achieve Italy's digital transformation through investments in the modernisation of the public administration, the competitiveness of businesses and the digital enhancement of cultural and tourist heritage.
First grant: PagoPA
- Component 1 (M1C1): Digitisation, innovation and security in the Public administration (PA). - Modernizing the public administration to make it simpler, more efficient and closer to citizens and businesses.
- Investment 1.4: Services and digital citizenship.
- Measure 1.4.3: Adozione piattaforma PagoPA Altri Enti (Adoption of the PagoPA platform - Other Entities).
Integration of the University's payment systems with the PagoPA platform, managed by the Office of the Prime Minister. In particular, 14 types of payment have been made available:
- commercial activities of the University;
- conference activities of the Universities;
- tax stamps;
- deposits;
- courses and certificates;
- donations;
- financing of institutional activities;
- school staff training;
- tenders, invitations to tender, open competitions;
- receipts from healthcare activities;
- refunds and returns;
- diploma fees;
- fees for assessment tests, supplementary exams, licences to practice a profession, qualification exams and state examinations;
- regional fee for the right to study.

Second grant: PDND

- Measure 1.3.1: National Data Digital Platform - Universities and AFAM.
Integration for the interoperability of the University's information systems with the National Digital Data Platform (PDND), managed by the Office of the Prime Minister. In particular, 8 services are made available on the PDND:
- the offer of courses: users can consult the programmes of study offered by the University for each academic year;
- academic enrolments: users can consult the enrolments by course of study in the last 3 academic years, the admission tests, the details of the exams taken, the activities carried out in international exchange programmes;
- academic qualifications: users can consult the details of the academic qualifications obtained, the proofs of completion and level of qualification of tertiary education studies and those relating to the "Diploma Supplement";
- rectification of academic enrolments: users can request the rectification of an academic enrolment and consult its status, and report the presence of anomalies on the data of academic enrolments;
- rectification of academic degrees: users can request the rectification of an academic degree and consult its status, and report the presence of anomalies on the data of academic degrees;
- changes in academic enrolments: users can consult the changes in enrolments in the last three academic years;
- changes in academic qualifications: users can consult the changes in academic qualifications;
- number of enrolled students by ISEE groups: users can consult the number of students by ISEE groups in a given academic year.
