If you obtained your degree abroad, you can apply for recognition for two purposes:

  • to enrol in a programme of study at the University of Trento. In this case, you must verify that your degree meets the admission requirements for the programme you are interested in. Visit the page Admission requirements for students with international qualifications for more information;
  • to have your degree evaluated. Your degree can be fully recognised (former "equipollenza" or equivalence of qualifications) when credits, programmes, the level and duration of studies are the same. If that is not the case, your qualification is partially recognised, and you will be required to pass some exams to obtain the corresponding qualification.

The University of Trento only issues academic qualifications. If you need recognition of your qualification for professional or other purposes, please visit the CIMEA website to find out how to proceed.

To have your degree evaluated, you must first identify the programme of study of the University of Trento that mostly matches with your academic background – consider the title of the programme, the type of exams, its duration and the credits awarded.
