Gestione di imprese sociali (G.I.S.)
CONTENT AND REQUIREMENTS
To apply, candidates must have already obtained at least a first level degree, a master's degree or a single-cycle master's degree, a degree awarded under regulations previously in force, or an equivalent foreign qualification.
Students who plan to graduate by 30 May 2026 may also be admitted (if, at the time of registration for the selection, only have to take the final exam).
You may also apply as an auditor if you lack the required qualifications but have gained relevant professional experience in social and non-profit organizations.
The purpose of the GIS master is to create new “social managers” able to operate within with the efficiency and efficacy that are typical of the business world and a collective well-being perspective, combining economic sustainability and social integration.
The GIS Master is aimed in particular at people who work in management, coordination, responsibility roles in public or private organizations in the different sectors in which social enterprises operate: children's services, youth distress, the environment, renewable energy, cultural promotion, social innovation, disability, social exclusion, development cooperation, new poverty, ethical finance, fair trade and others.
This one-year Master's programme is taught in Italian. The teaching activities are structured in modules and are held, save for exceptional circumstances, on Fridays and Saturdays. Classroom activities will take place from 6 March 2026 to 17 October 2026. The internship and project work will follow, between November 2026 and January 2027 (for at least 3 months full-time). The Master's thesis must be submitted by 15 February 2027.
Attendance of at least 80% of the activities is required.
Students who have passed the assessment tests and the final thesis, who meet the attendance requirement, and have completed the minimum number of hours for the internship or project work, will be awarded the First level Master's Degree in "Gestione di Imprese Sociali - GIS".
The registration fee is 3,900.00 euros (plus one 16.00 euros stamp duty), to be paid in three installments. The first (1,316.00 euros) must be paid to confirm acceptance of the place by 20 February 2026 (at 12.00), the second (1,300.00 euros) by 30 April 2026, and the third of 1,300.00 euros by 31 May 2026.
The registration fee for the auditors is 2,746.00 euros (including stamp duty) to be paid in three installments: 926.00 euros by 20 February 2026 (noon), and two installments of 910.00 euros by 30 April 2026 and 31 May 2026.
One scholarship, named after Prof. Carlo Borzaga and amounting to the registration fee, will be awarded based on merit to the first under 30 candidate in the ranking of applicants. Two more scholarships will also be awarded, based on merit, to the second and third under-30 candidate in the ranking, who will receive an amount equal to one third of the registration fee (1,300.00 euros). Up to 8 scholarships will be awarded based on merit and the destination of the internship or project work. The amount of the scholarship will be defined by the Master's Board based on the resources available.
Admission to the Master's degree is through a call.
