Deadline to apply: 3 July 2026
The call is launched by the University of Trento in collaboration with Fondazione Hub Innovazione Trentino (HIT) and is funded by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trento e Rovereto (CARITRO).
Purpose of the call: to finance Proof of Concept (PoC) projects to reach a higher level of technological maturity (TRL from 3 to 5) for patented inventions owned or co-owned by the University. The objective is to demonstrate the technical and commercial value of these technologies, reducing risks for the market and for potential third-party investors, thus favouring the third mission of the University.
Recipients: the role of Project Manager is reserved for structured staff of the University of Trento, specifically full and associate Professors and fixed-term and permanent Researchers who are inventors or co-inventors of a patent. Other research staff (including non-inventors), technical staff, research fellows and doctoral students can also participate as members of the teams.
Funding: the maximum amount that can be allocated for each project is € 40,000 (including VAT where applicable). The funds can be used to cover expenses for personnel, materials, equipment, software licenses and specialist or patent consultancy services (the latter up to a maximum of 50% of the budget). Projects that obtain at least 70 points in the final ranking will be eligible for funding.
Applications: applications must be submitted by 3 July 2026 by email to [email protected] following the procedure indicated in the call.
