A project to improve people's safety
Testo

Verification and adaptation of buildings and specific training of emergency first-responders for the management of people with disabilities in emergency situations

The project was born from a review of the structural and human resources that are activated in an emergency and the need to ensure that they respond effectively. Safety is inclusive when infrastructures intervene effectively in light to the characteristics of those who must be protected, who in turn are able to act and react effectively by virtue of their own physical, cognitive, emotional resources.

All University buildings and facilities have been thoroughly reviewed and examined to highlight the improvements necessary to produce an inclusive response in an emergency, and the University services have adopted a management system proposal and an improvement plan for the system itself. In particular, the plan provides training for emergency first-responders - so that they acquire practical and theoretical knowledge for the management of communication and assistance to people with disabilities - and information for the entire University community to improve knowledge of the "building system" and learn what to do in an emergency (general knowledge and self-protection).
