In the academic year 2025/26, the University of Trento launched a University education project for ten international students from conflict zones.

The project is aimed at people who are outside of Italian territory, come from a conflict zone and are unable to start or continue their university studies in safe conditions due to conflict, instability or danger.

Successful candidates will have access to a one-year university education programme (Foundation Year), during which they will be able to attend single courses and/or preparatory courses to possibly continue their university studies.

The 2025-2026 call for applications is now closed. It is no longer possible to submit applications.

The 2025-2026 call for applications received over 16,000 applications. Applying the criteria set out in the call for applications, a pre-selection process was carried out, narrowing down the applications to a few thousand, which will be evaluated in detail. Candidates who have been pre-selected have received an email informing them of the next steps in the selection process.
Consequently, candidates who have not received any communication are not eligible for the next stage of the selection process.
