The Young Researchers calls of the Ministry of University and Research support the projects of young promising researchers. The calls are part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 4 "Education and Research" – Component 2 "From research to business", Investment 1.2 "Financing of projects submitted by young researchers".

The Young Researchers 2022 call has funded over 300 projects submitted by:
- Principal Investigators who have been awarded ERC Starting grants under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe and who have chosen a foreign host institution as their headquarters;
- Researchers who have been awarded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships under Horizon 2020 and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships within Horizon Europe;
- Researchers who have obtained a "Seal of Excellence" in Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships, within Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.
Four projects have chosen UniTrento as their host institution, for a total of 865,000 euros:

The Young Researchers 2024 call has funded over 250 projects submitted by young researchers who:
- have been awarded Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) Individual Fellowships in Horizon 2020, including Standard European Fellowships and Reintegration Panels, and Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships within Horizon Europe;
- have obtained a "Seal of Excellence" in MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships of Horizon Europe.
Two projects have chosen UniTrento as host institution, with a total funding of 488,000 euros:
- ConFlex - Harnessing Neural Embeddings for Contextual Flexibility via Dimensionality Reduction
