MASTER’S INFORMATION
Multifunctional, Metamaterials and Metastructures - M3 is a second-level, English-taught Master's programme offered by the Departments of Civil, environmental and mechanical engineering (DICAM) and Industrial engineering (DII).

CONTENT AND REQUIREMENTS
Applications are welcome from candidates who:
- have already obtained a master's degree, a single-cycle master's degree, a degree awarded prior to Ministerial Decree 509/1999, an equivalent foreign qualification;
- plan to graduate before the publication of the ranking of applicants;
- have already obtained a foreign 4-year Bachelor's degree.
Master's students can enrol in other courses at the same time if the two courses meet the requirements established by the Ministry of University and Research in Ministerial Decree 930/2022, articles 2 and 3.
Applications must be submitted online by 28 November 2025 (noon). The forms will be available at this page from 30 June 2025.
The selection consists of the evaluation of the CV (maximum 80 points) and the motivational letter (in English, maximum 20 points).
Successful candidates who rank in the top 30 positions will be admitted to the programme and will be invited to confirm their enrollment by paying the first installment of tuition fees. The master's programme will be offered with a minimum of 10 students.
The master's programme aims to train professionals with skills in analysis, design, analytical and computer modeling, simulation and experimental validation in the field of metamaterials and multifunctional metastructures.
The master's programme (210 hours of face-to-face teaching) will take place between January and December 2026. The course also includes a 150-hour internship.
The final examination consists of a project developed under the supervision of a lecturer or an expert, which must then be discussed before a committee.
Lessons will be both in-person and online (both live and recorded). Mandatory attendance is required for at least 70% of the planned teaching activities.
Students who have regularly participated in the master’s activities, passed the teaching assessment tests, concluded the internship and passed the final exam will be awarded, in December 2026, the second level University Master's Degree in Multifunctional, Metamaterials and Metastructures (M3).
The registration fee is 3,000 euros to be paid in two installments, the first of 2,000 euro upon confirmation of the place, and the second of 1,000.00 euro by 30 June 2026.

Application forms for the master’s must be submitted online by 12:00 on 28 November 2025 using the online form.
The following must be attached to the application in PDF format:
- certification of the qualification with an indication of the university exams taken, the grade and the date;
- curriculum vitae et studiorum with a list of any publications;
- motivational letter;
- English language certificates (B1 level is considered an asset).
The selection committee, based on the provided documents, will draw up a ranking that will be published by 9 January 2026, awarding up to 80 points for the curriculum and up to 20 for the motivational letter.
To be eligible for admission, students must obtain at least 60/100.
The first 30 eligible candidates from the ranking will be admitted, and will be contacted and invited to confirm their registration by 11:59 on 16 January 2026 and to pay the first installment at the same time.
The Master will be activated with a minimum number of 10 registered students. The maximum number of participants is 30.
