Tradition and innovation in the production of classic method sparkling wines
COURSE SUMMARY
The advanced training course Tradition and innovation in the production of classic method sparkling wines, offered by the Centre for Agriculture, Food and Environment (C3A) in collaboration with the Edmund Mach Foundation, provides a high-level educational programme designed to support both professional and personal development.
Participants acquire advanced knowledge and skills to optimise production processes and strengthen the competitiveness of companies operating in the sparkling wine sector.
The course offers three specialist pathways: Viticulture, Oenology, and Markets and Marketing.
The course in brief
OVERVIEW
The course is open to:
- applicants holding a university degree (Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or an equivalent qualification awarded under the former Italian university system), or an equivalent foreign qualification;
- applicants holding an upper secondary school diploma and/or appropriate professional experience considered relevant to the aims of the course.
It is also possible to enroll as an auditor in one or more of the three specialist pathways offered by the course, even if the above entry requirements are not met.
The curriculum explores the sustainable management of the viticulture and oenology supply chain, with a particular focus on the technologies and biotechnologies applied to the production of Traditional Method sparkling wines.
The programme also covers international markets, place-based marketing and communication strategies, providing participants with the essential tools to effectively promote and enhance the commercial value of the product, with particular attention to the distinctive features of mountain viticulture.
Participants who meet the minimum attendance requirement and successfully complete the final assessment will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.
Auditors who meet the minimum attendance requirement will be awarded an Attendance Certificate.
The course fee is €2,000, including the €16 revenue stamp, and may be paid in two instalments of €1,000 each. The first instalment must be paid upon enrolment, and the second by 1 June 2027.
The fees for individual specialist pathways (for auditors) are:
- Viticulture: €500 (including the €16 revenue stamp)
- Oenology: €800 (including the €16 revenue stamp)
- Markets and Marketing: €300 (including the €16 revenue stamp)
Scholarships may be available, subject to additional funding provided by third-party organisations.
