COURSE INFORMATION
The specialization school in Anaesthesia, Resuscitation, Intensive Care and Pain Management aims to train doctors in the management of complex clinical situations in the perioperative setting, intensive care, pain management and emergency medicine.
The programme is designed to give resident doctors the opportunity to acquire knowledge in general and local-regional anaesthesia for surgical, obstetric and diagnostic procedures; postoperative and intensive care, treatment of acute and chronic pain, palliative care, emergency, intra- and extra-hospital medicine; hyperbaric therapy and emergency toxicology.

Admission to medical specialization schools is by competitive selection. Applicants must:
- hold a degree in Medicine and Surgery;
- be licensed to practice medicine by the start date of the teaching activities;
- pass the national admission competition, based on qualifications and an exam, which is launched every year by the Ministry of University and Research.
