Admission to specialization schools is by national competition. The admission calls can be found on the pages of each school. 

The national call (Bando di ammissione dei medici alle scuole di specializzazione di area sanitaria) is published every year on the website of the Ministry of University and Research, on the page dedicated to specialization schools.

To comply with ministerial provisions, Medical specialization schools number their academic years one year behind university academic years.

The specialization schools offered by the University of Trento are:

National Admission Exam

Candidates are convened on 21 July 2026 at 11:30 in the classrooms indicated in the reserved area on Universitaly.it.

Bring with you:

  • a valid, unexpired identity document (identity card, passport, or driving licence). Please bring the same document used during registration;
  • Tax code (codice fiscale) or health insurance card (tessera sanitaria) (essential for saving the exam session).

Please note:

  • accompanying persons are not permitted to stay outside or near the exam venue;
  • it is not permitted to bring items not allowed according to the official regulations;
  • it is not permitted to bring sandwiches or other food into the exam room; only bottled drinks and small, sealed, intact snacks are allowed.

According to Article 3, paragraph 6, of Regulation No. 130/2017, candidates may not bring into the exam room manuals, textbooks, notes, mobile phones, smartphones, handheld computers, or any device capable of storing information or transmitting data. Paper materials may not be used during the exam. If a candidate is found in possession of any unauthorised material or equipment, their exam must be annulled by the room supervisor, and this annulment must be recorded in the official room report.

Candidates who have declared disabilities and/or specific learning difficulties, in accordance with Articles 16 and 20 of Law No. 104 of 5 February 1992, as amended by Law No. 17 of 28 January 1999, and Law No. 170/2010 and the related guidelines, will be contacted by the University Inclusion Service.

Enrolment information

Once candidates have been assigned to a school, they can enrol by filling out the online application form.

Application and enrollment are usually open from September to March of each year.

Fees and deadlines

Tuition fees:

  • between 310 and 1,700 euros, based on your ISEE (means test);
  • without ISEE (no means testing): 1,700 euros (maximum amount).

Additional costs:

  • regional fee for the right to study (TDS): from 130 to 170 euros based on your ISEE;
  • tax stamp for registration: 16 euros.

Payment deadlines

  • First instalment (at the time of registration):

    • tax stamp: 16,00 euros
    • provincial fee for the right to study: 130,00 euros
    • advance payment of university tuition fees: 150,00 euros.

    Total: 296,00 euros

  • Second instalment:
    • remaining amount of the provincial fee for the right to study (as appropriate);
    • 50% of tuition fees based on your ISEE.
  • Third instalment (31 March 2026):
    • 50% of tuition fees based on your ISEE.
